Too much info?

Nick made a shelf for our food storage so we'll have room for the baby in the extra room. It turned out looking really good! I watched him as he made it and then we both painted it a sage green. (I am too lazy to get my camera which is in my hospital bag in the trunk of my car.) Anyways, I am so proud of him! Way to go babe! I always hoped I would marry a handy man!

K so I don't know if this is TMI but usually it's only the girls who blog right? Anybody have a lot of stinging when their cervix was thinning? I have been told that contractions are like really bad cramps but so far I feel a sharp stinging spasm-like pain, sometimes all day long. I am dilated to a one now...whoopdeedoo...I still have a ways to go but at least I have something to show for it, right? Anywho, I am just wondering if people's contractions vary in what they feel like depending on the individual. What do you guys think? Also, when do you guys think I will have the baby? I want exact dates. I'll send the winner some fun gift! :)

You are so close! The sharp pains are normal. I've been reminded of those lately too... I had them with Tydon and they are back! That's great you are starting to dilate. Sounds like you are on the ball if your bag is already in the car ;) Keep us updated!!

So...Travis read this first and told me about your cervix. Don't worry, he's in med school, so he understands all of our womanly problems. Neither Travis nor I had problems with our cervixes stinging. Sorry.

Contractions...they started out as the worst cramps I've ever had in my entire life. And then they got way worse than that, sooo...good luck.

You shall have the baby on October 11th. 11 is my lucky number.

You'll have her on the 3rd, of course! Sorry, I can't tell you too much about the pains you're having. I seem to have blocked all but the worst of it out of my mind. Obviously, since i keep getting pregnant. If I remembered all the going-ons of those all-natural labors and deliveries, I'm very sure I wouldn't keep doing this. Ha!

(So I deleted my last comment because I read your post wrong. Wow, embaressing moment!! Let's try this again...)

I remember having sharp pains during my last trimester. I can't remember if it was pressure pains or what but it wasn't contractions. And everyone described contractions to me as feeling like a rubber band was being stretched around your whole belly. But my contractions never felt that way. They stayed really low, I never felt it all around. So...mainly I guess you'll know a contraction when you feel one. Especially when you feel pain that's very persistant, like every 10, 8, 5 minutes apart.

AND I predict that you'll have your baby on the 4th. That's a lucky day because Kaden was born October 4th!

October 9th. You know how your leg or foot gets a cramp and you can't get it to stop? Well, kinda like that, but in your uterus but not your foot. And way more annoying. You'll know. Don't worry.

I had those stinging pains every once in a while, but from my 2nd trimester on. Of course, that's when my cervix started shortening and thinning, so I guess that might explain what you're feeling now.
Ah, the contractions. The word I would use to describe them is not a positive one- in fact, it's downright negative, and not the uplifting encouragement you need right now.
Therefore: YOU CAN DO IT! IT'S ALL WORTH IT! YOUR BABY GIRL IS GOING TO BE BEAUTIFUL! Just try to breath slowly, and let Nick be there to be your steady strength and the voice of reason.
I can't WAIT for my little relative to be born. I believe you'll have her on the 6th.

Oh Haley, how exciting!!! Contractions aren't that bad until you are within hours(or day) of delivery. They start off as kind of a 'funny' feeling where your belly feels like it's tightening for a second or two. But when it's closer to the time of delivery- they will be INTENSE! I do have to say it is all worth it. And that little girl will bring SO MUCH joy and love into your life. And then you won't be able to imagine what life would be like without her. Oh Haley I wish I could be there to help. My advise for labor and delivery...1st get the epidural (just personal preference. I don't want to impose)and 2nd labor doesn't last forever, it may feel like it but it will end. Love you! Miss you!
