It's FUN being ME!

Hi guys! My name is Sadie and I am almost 8 months old! I love hanging out with my Mom everyday! She is awesome! Anyways, what I really wanted to share with you guys is all the fun things I do these days! I take baths, take naps, play with my Dad, and have started to army crawl (to name a few). Check out the videos of me below just being my cute spunky self!

I love bath time in the kitchen sink!

I dream about sucking my binkie (or nursing)! Watch my lips come alive towards the end of this clip!

Daddy loves to throw me on the bed! I love it too! I'm not scared at all!

I like to army crawl and am getting better at it everyday! When I first started learning, I would sometimes get lazy and cheat just a little...Hey, I'm American! I want to eat and not exercise just like everybody else sometimes!

Random Happenings

I am going to make this decadent dessert on Mother's Day when we have dinner with Nick's family...Can't wait! It is amazing and very bad for you! That is why it is so good! Peanut Butter Brownie Trifle...need I say more? What else...I made strawberry freezer jam yesterday with my friend Jen! It turned out great and I feel so accomplished! I love the smell of fresh strawberries! What else...Sadie is 7 months old today! Her stats as of last week are wt: 25% ht: 12%. Just a little girl! She figured out how to roll from her back to her stomach a few days ago! It is fun to see her do it but also really annoying because she does this maneuver in her crib when I am putting her down for a nap and either a.) stops crying and plays with the crib bumper or b.) Cries and cries because she can't get back over and doesn't want to sleep like that! Silly girl!

Heaven on Earth

Nick and Sadie. Sorry about all the thigh Nick is showing. Just focus on Sadie.
I love her smile! It is so intense!
She was playing with Nick's glasses and his big head.
Tara made this bow for her. Cute huh!
Nick was playing peek-a-boo from behind the bed. She loved it!
Love her fluffy hair in this picture! Reminds me of the '80's!
Sadie loves her bath time! She consistently soaks both Nick and I because she LOVES to splash!
Enjoying dinner.
I gave her pigtails! They kinda look like horns though.

I just need to post really quick my excitement! Okay, first let me give you some background information to why I am so excited:
Sadie's sleeping life in a nutshell has been as follows:
1. Colicky for the first couple months, never slept much also.
2. Started sleeping 8-10 hrs. at night from months 2-3. YAY!
3. Got croupe really really bad so stopped sleeping at nights.
4. Has always only taken 30 minute naps.
6. Last week I counted that by 2:30 am (and she went to bed at 9 or 9:30) I had been up with her about 8-9 times! (And this goes on all night!)

Soooo, needless to say, I never get any sleep! I nurse her throughout the night to settle her back down but she just wakes up after half an hour to an hour and a half of sleeping and starts the sequence all over again. I have even tried giving her the pacifier (because I know she's not hungry) and having Nick give her the pacifier and go pat her on the back every 15-20 minutes while she's crying but nothing has seemed to work!!!
My friend has the book Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child and so on Tuesday this week I borrowed it and read it frantically all day. I was hoping it could help me out, but I had previously read Baby Wise and felt like nothing in there had worked for Sadie thus far. Knock on wood, but I figured nothing could help Sadie because she apparently had some serious sleeping disorder! Anyways, the book helped so much! We had to let her cry it out, which was super hard, but by night 3 (last night), I am happy to report that Sadie went to bed at 8 pm and didn't wake up to nurse until 4:30 am! Then she went back to sleep and awoke for the day at 7:15!!! She is taking naps so much better also! Still usually one 30-40 minute nap a day but the others are about an hour now! I am so happy! Being a Mom just got a heck of a lot easier!

Thanks Ashley and Travis for recommending the book, thank you Stephanie for letting me borrow it, thank you Tara for endless phone counseling regarding infant sleep and schedules, thank you Nick for helping me keep my sanity for the last 6 1/2 months, thank you God for listening and answering my prayers, and last but certainly not least, thank you Sadie for being trainable and for letting me finally feel like I am wearing the pants!

Coolest Videos Ever!

I cannot even explain how these videos were created. Let's just say, Sam is projected several times singing different parts and then he sings with his projections. You'll just have to watch it to understand what I am talking about. Just remember, none of the Sams on the stage are REAL except for Sam standing in the very middle...The rest are projections somehow. It's amazing that you can't see through them either. This was on Oprah...Really cool!

Girl Talk

Tara's girls were having fun talking to each other. Emma would babble and then both Kenadi and Emma would start laughing! It was so cute! Hope you enjoy this as much as I did!
